This marks Danielle McKinney’s (1981, USA) first solo exhibition in Italy.
The exhibition showcases a series of paintings created specifically for this event, along with a select few existing works.

Acting as a “fly on the wall,” McKinney serves as an unseen observer of human behavior, gaining valuable insights.
Her compositions begin on entirely black canvases, allowing scenes to emerge from the darkness in a chiaroscuro style. McKinney’s works often originate from images found online, in magazines, and from other paintings, which she uses to examine the subtleties of gestures, colors, and shapes, thereby modernizing the tradition of model painting.

The artist reveals intimate, contemplative moments, featuring exclusively black female figures in tranquil domestic settings, capturing moments of solitude.
